Cameron Thomas had himself quite a debut weekend in St. Louis and his efforts have been rewarded by the SEC.
Monday the SEC named Thomas the conference’s Freshman of the Week after scoring a combined 52 points in LSU’s games against Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville and St. Louis. Thomas led the Tigers in scoring in both games.
In his collegiate debut Thursday against the Cougars, Thomas scored 27 points, going 10-21 from the floor and hitting four three-pointers; Thomas also added two assists. Per LSU, he became the 13th player in program history to score at least 21 points in their varsity debut.
