The SEC has produced a number of star wide receivers, but the league has produced surprisingly few 1,000-yard receivers in its history.
Only 62 times has an SEC wide receiver finished the season with 1,000 yards in the league’s history. And just three times has one finished with at least 1,500 receiving yards.
Contrast that with SEC running backs: Two current SEC backs have rushed for 1,500 yards in a season, and it has been done 19 times in league history. As for 1,000-yard rushers, Auburn has 25 by itself.
Interestingly, four receivers hit the 1,000-yard mark last season, and 20 have done so this decade.
