LSU will play Nicholls State as a part of its 2020 schedule.
The Advocate reported Wednesday that the Tigers will host the in-state Colonels at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge on Oct. 4, 2020.
LSU will pay Nicholls State $550,000 for the game.
The Houma Courier first reported the news earlier this week.
Though the game has not yet been formally announced by either LSU or Nicholls State, Colonels coach Tim Rebowe spoke on record to the Houma Courier about the future matchup.
“We’ve never been to Baton Rouge and some of the other (Football Championship Subdivision) teams in our state have played there,” Rebowe said.
