Sports Illustrated’s Pete Thamel is reporting that Texas has been kept out of attending a summer camp in the state of Louisiana for the third time. Until late Tuesday night, the Longhorns were supposed to be in attendance at a camp hosted by NCAA Division III program Belhaven.
The lower division school is located in Baton Rouge and coached by former Kentucky coach Hal Mumme. Mumme tells Thamel that LSU was behind the cancellation. He’s not happy with Tigers’ coach Ed Orgeron for pulling strings to have the Longhorns excluded and losing out on $5,000 his program was to receive for Texas’ participation.
