The Baton Rouge Advocate reported that Jackson – who was in the mix for a starting job – has been ruled academically ineligible for the spring semester. This means that Jackson will miss the rest of spring practice and the track team’s outdoor season. The report also said Jackson is expected to qualify over the summer and be eligible to play this fall.
Over the weekend, LSU coach Les Miles told reporters that he had “concern” over Jackson trying to balance his academics while playing two sports.
“One sport … can be very difficult. Now, to have two sports, there’s some concern there needs to be balance,” Miles said.
