Louisiana Tech is expected to hire former Georgia and LSU assistant Tony Ball to its coaching staff, FootballScoop.com reported Thursday.
Ball will replace running backs coach Mickey Joseph’s spot on the staff after the latter left to take the same job at LSU earlier this offseason.
Ball, 57, most recently was a coach in 2015 when he was the wide receivers coach for one season at LSU. Then-Tigers coach Les Miles fired him and he did not coach in 2016.
Before his short stay at LSU, Ball was an assistant at Georgia from 2006-14.
