The Tigers ended the weekend series with Texas on a sour note, getting demolished by Texas 11-1. A combination of LSU’s shallow pitching staff and a lifeless day at the plate prevented the Tigers from getting the weekend sweep.
Right-hander Todd Peterson got through the first two innings facing only the minimum before it all unraveled in the 3rd. The Longhorns got a lead off double from Tate Shaw and were about to strand him. With two outs, Texas went RBI double, single, intentional walk then a two-RBI double to blow up a 4-0 lead. Texas added an RBI sac bunt in the 4th and chased Peterson.
