Nick Saban's dealership could get $13 million in incentives, AL.com reports

A Mercedes Benz car dealership co-owned by Alabama and former LSU football coach Nick Saban could receive $13 million in incentives to relocate from Hoover to Irondale, according to AL.com. The Irondale City Council approved the tax incentive plan and city attorneys have asked the Jefferson County Circuit Court to validate it.

Under the proposed project, funding and cooperation agreement between the city and the dealership, Mercedes of Birmingham, which is located in Hoover, would build a 40,000 square-foot "upscale Mercedes Benz automobile dealership" in Irondale that would create 60 full-time jobs, the website reported. Irondale would provide tax breaks worth up to $10 million and would spend up to $3 million to build a road leading to the dealership and to install water, sewer, gas, cable service to the site.
