The route running by LSU’s wide receivers is about to get more precise.
LSU coach Ed Orgeron made a wise move Tuesday in hiring 73-year-old Jerry Sullivan as a consultant. Sullivan has 45 years of coaching experience, primarily as a receivers coach. Sullivan will have no on-field role at LSU and can’t conduct meetings, but he’ll be invaluable to first-year receivers coach Mickey Joseph.
I covered Sullivan for the past four seasons while he was the receivers coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars. I’ve seen what his teaching can do up close, as every practice in training camp is open to the media.
