Every college football player past and present who dreaded or dreads two-a-day preseason contact practices can start celebrating.
The NCAA Division I Council approved legislation today from a plan endorsed by the NCAA Sport Science Institute to eliminate two-a-day contact practices.
The new rule states a single day may include one three-hour on-field practice session and a walk-through in which helmets and pads can't be worn with contact being prohibited.
Also, walk-throughs also can't include conditioning activities and are limited to two hours in length in the Football Championship Subdivision (Division 1-AA).
