Baton Rouge, La. – The No. 25 LSU men's golf team shot a 7-under 281 on Friday to open things up at the Old Waverly Collegiate at the Old Waverly Golf Club on Friday. The 281 has LSU in the lead by two strokes over No. 10 Vanderbilt and No. 13 Georgia, who are both at 5-under 283.
Connor Gaunt was the catalyst for LSU on day one with a smooth 4-under 68 that featured five birdies, 12 pars, and only one bogey. He made the turn at 1-under 35 and then proceeded to card a 3-under 33 on the back with three birdies and six pars.
