Men's Basketball Holds Off Georgia, 89-85

BATON ROUGE -- Ben Simmons and Tim Quarterman each scored 22 points, as the LSU men's basketball team held off Georgia, 89-85, on Tuesday night at the Maravich Center.

The LSU duo combined to attempt 36 of LSU's 55 free throws, of which the Tigers made 37 to keep its distance from the resilient Georgia (11-7, 4-4 SEC) squad.

LSU led by 11 with 50 seconds to play Georgia pulled the Bulldogs within one in only 27 seconds.

A crowd of 10,749 watched LSU improve to 13-7 overall and 6-2 in league play.
