MELBOURNE, VICTORIA, Australia – Shooting 51 percent from the field early Thursday morning (Central Time), the LSU men's basketball team knocked off Melbourne United, 97-89, in the first of two games between the squads to complete LSU's "Tour Down Under."
Keith Hornsby scored 10 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter, as LSU (3-1 in Australia) took the lead late in the second quarter and never let it go against the National Basketball League squad. LSU led 56-50 at halftime.
Six Tigers finished in double figures scoring, as Ben Simmons joined Hornsby with 18 points.
