Lubbock, Texas – LSU track and field senior Tonea Marshall became the third-fastest hurdler in NCAA track and field history on Saturday after she ran a personal best of 7.86 in the 60 meter hurdles at the Texas Tech Sports Performance Center.
Marshall, a native of Arlington, Texas, came into the race with a prior personal best of 8.04 in the 60 hurdles that she ran as a sophomore back in 2018, but that all changed in a mere 7.86 seconds on Saturday. It was a spectacle to see as she easily glided over the hurdles in her way to the finish line en route to victory and her second LSU school record; she also holds the 100 meter hurdles school record outdoors.
