BATON ROUGE – LSU junior center Darcy Malone has been named as part of the 16-member team that began training Sunday in Canberra for Australia’s World University Games team.
The 11-day tournament runs July 3-14 in South Korea.
Australia is in Pool C with Lithuania, Finland, Japan, France and Chinese Taipei with play scheduled to begin on July 3 in the southern city of Gwangju. There will be several warm-up games in China before the Games begin.
Consisting of a mix of National Basketball League talent, U.S. college players and emerging stars, Coach Andrej Lemanis is happy with the announced squad.
