LSU lost a lot of defenders from last season.
Defensive backs Jamal Adams, Tre'Davious White and Rickey Jefferson are gone from the secondary. Linebackers Duke Riley and Kendell Beckwith left a hole in the middle of the defense. Defensive linemen Lewis Neal and Davon Godchaux are no longer up front.
None of that seems to bother LSU coach Ed Orgeron.
"We'll be playing a lot of young guys on defense," Orgeron said following Saturday night's spring game.
A lot of those young guys were on full display. One in particular was safety Grant Delpit.
The 6-foot-3, 191-pound Delpit is an early enrollee who - as Orgeron pointed out - could have been attending his senior prom instead of playing in the LSU spring game.
