Former New Orleans Saints All-Pro guards Jahri Evans and Carl Nicks came off draft boards in the fourth and fifth round, respectively. So it wouldn't be anything out of left field if the Saints looked for their next starter in the mid rounds of April's NFL draft.
If the Saints wanted to look a little earlier, the team might start its search about an hour down Interstate 10 West up in Baton Rouge.
Both ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. and NFL Network's Mike Mayock mentioned LSU offensive lineman Vadal Alexander in media conference calls this week as a possibility for the Saints in Round 2 if New Orleans yearned to fill Evans' vacancy in the draft pool.
