An 11-month old rescue tiger named Harvey, obtained from a sanctuary in Okeechobee, Fla., is a quarantine-approval away from officially becoming Mike VII, LSU's new live Tiger mascot.
The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, charged with taking care of the Mikes through the years, managed to slip Harvey into the night house of tiger habitat outside the front of the Pete Maravich Assemly Center without great fanfare Tuesday.
It's where he's quarantined for at least one week will be acclimating to his new surroundings. He'll be observed by LSU veterinarians to ensure that he is healthy and a good fit, at which point he will be formally introduced as Mike VII.
