“We certainly hope he gets another opportunity,” Miles told reporters after LSU’s pro day Monday.
Miles did say that Gordon would be able to practice this spring if he gets to go-ahead from the NCAA. Gordon played extensively in his first three seasons on campus, then suffered an Achilles injury against Florida in early October last year that ended his season. That was his fourth game of the season and the Tigers’ sixth of 12.
NCAA rules say a player can receive a redshirt if he played less than one-third of the season, and all of the game action must come in the first half of the season.
