A return to school for a fifth football season has Christian LaCouture on at least one postseason award watch list.
The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation included the LSU defensive end among 42 football players on a watch list for the Ronnie Lott Trophy, given annually to the defensive player "who exhibits the same characteristics Lott embodied during his distinguished career: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity," according to the foundation website.
An ACL injury in preseason camp last year caused LaCouture to miss the entire 2016 season, but he stayed active by working with teammates on the field during practices and games.
