"(Wayde) was the glue guy," said LSU guard Skylar Mays. "He was a glue guy in the way he played because he played to make other guys better. He played to win. It was so effortless for him to help this team win games."
This year LSU's basketball team is playing without arguably their most important player: Wayde Sims. He was the locker room presence that maintained team chemistry, making all the hustle plays to help secure victories. Sims was murdered on September 28 during a group altercation outside nearby Southern University.
