The Super Regional baseball series between LSU and UL-Lafayette in Baton Rouge will begin Saturday, the NCAA announced Monday night. The second game will be Sunday, and a third game -- if needed -- would be Monday.
Times and television assignments for the best-of-three series will be determined Tuesday morning, the NCAA said.
The series winner will open College World Series play Sunday, June 14, against the winner of a Super Regional between host TCU and Texas A&M.
LSU and ULL both completed three-game regional sweeps Monday to secure their spots in the Super Regional. LSU beat UNC Wilmington 2-0 behind a stellar pitching effort by Jared Poche, and ULL beat Rice 5-2 to advance.
