When LSU faced off against Tulane last season, the Green Wave came away with its first season sweep of the Tigers since 2007 with victories in Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
That sweep will be on the minds of LSU players as the schools renew the oldest rivalry in LSU history - the first collegiate athletic event the Tigers ever participated in was a 10-8 victory over Tulane in baseball in 1893.
LSU leads the all-time series 180-128-3.
Both schools are coming off of 1-2 weekends - LSU dropped its first two games against Florida before taking a 10-6 come-from-behind victory on Sunday and then Tulane won its series opener against Stetson before losing two in a row.
