Parkview Baptist outfielder Daniel Cabrera, an LSU signee and former Curtis Patriot, was selected 768th overall by the San Diego Padres Wednesday in the 26th round of the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft.
Cabrera, 6 foot, 180 pounds, hit .510 as a senior with the Eagles while driving in 25 runs this season. He played at John Curtis for the first three years of his high school career before transferring to Parkview for the start of the 2016-17 school year.
Cabrera was ranked as the No. 82 prospect in the country by Baseball America entering the draft.
