BATON ROUGE – When the LSU football team takes the field against Auburn, the Tigers will have something extra on the back of their helmets.
This week LSU football is joining with the Southeastern Conference to help raise awareness of prostate cancer by honoring former commissioner Mike Slive, who battled the disease during his athletics administration career.
In a nationally-televised game against Auburn, LSU will wear helmet stickers with a blue ribbon and “Slive” written across the ribbon.
While the football team is proud to take part in raising awareness for prostate cancer, they aren’t the only sport at LSU to help in the fight against the disease.
