According to CBSSports.com, Fournette’s parents have purchased two insurance policies from Kaymore Sports Risk Management: $10 million for total disability in the event of a career-ending injury and $10 million for circumstances that would lead him falling from his projected spot in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Premiums for NCAA athletic policies typically cost about $8,000 per $1 million of coverage, according to CBS Sports. The policies kicked in before LSU began spring practice this year.
Heading into his junior season, Fournette is expected to be selected high in the 2017 NFL Draft. Through two seasons at LSU, Fournette is rewriting the football record books, including most rushing yards (1,953) and rushing touchdowns (22) in a single season.
