Visiting marching bands will be able to play at LSU this season after all.
The school announced on Wednesday that it has created a plan that will allow visiting bands to perform during halftime at Tiger Stadium, reversing a ban on the practice that come to light last week.
“There are serious safety issues to consider in adopting the proper plan for on-field performances by visiting bands,” athletic director Joe Alleva said in a statement. “When both our band and the visiting band are scheduled to perform, there’s the possibility of having over 600 additional people converging onto already crowded sidelines while the game is in progress.
