The second week of College Football Playoff rankings were released Tuesday night and LSU (6-3) tumbled all the way down to No. 22 after getting their ass whooped by Alabama.
LSU is behind South Carolina, even though the Tigers have the head-to-head advantage, but since Alabama put any chance LSU had at making the playoffs in the dirt, I’m not too fussed about rankings.
This week’s CFP rankings are as follows. First round bye teams are bold and italicized, and teams that would host playoff games are in italics.
- Oregon
- Ohio State
- Texas
- Penn State
- Indiana
- BYU
- Tennessee
- Notre Dame
- Miami
- Alabama
- Ole Miss
- Georgia
- Boise State
- SMU
- Texas A&M
- Kansas State
- Colorado
- Washington State
- Louisville
- Clemson
- South Carolina
- LSU
- Missouri
- Army
- Tulane
At the time of this writing, Oregon, Texas, BYU, and Miami would get the first round byes as the champs of the Big 10, SEC, Big 12, and ACC.
