LSU must reduce penalties, starting with Eastern Michigan

LSU (3-0) is heavily favored to win their game against Eastern Michigan (1-3) this Saturday, but there are still plenty of areas for improvement.

The most obvious area for improvement is team discipline. In their 34-24 victory over Syracuse last weekend, the Tigers committed 14 costly penalties. Luckily Leonard Fournette was there to bail them out with another huge game, rushing for 244 yards and two touchdowns. However, as the season goes on, the Tigers won’t be able to lean on their star running back to make up for an abundance of penalties and mistakes.

LSU head coach Les Miles realizes that when the competition gets tough later in the season, his team will not be so lucky if they do not clean up their act soon.
