With some help from Vanderbilt, LSU moved into a first-place tie with No. 8 Texas A&M in the SEC basketball race.
The Commodores, playing at home in Memorial Gymnasium, beat the Aggies 77-60. The loss dropped A&M to 7-2 in league play, the same as LSU.
LSU, which won at Auburn Tuesday, plays at home Saturday against Mississippi State at 5 p.m.
LSU returns off its win at Auburn Tuesday to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center for a Saturday 5 p.m. contest with Mississippi State.
It will be "Fan Appreciation Night" and all tickets in the 300 (Upper) Level of the Maravich Center are presently on sale for just $5 for this game which will be televised by ESPN2 and broadcast on the LSU Sports Radio network.
