LSU men's golf claims first SEC Championship since 1987

The seventh-ranked LSU men's golf team claimed its first SEC Championship since 1987 when the Tigers captured the league crown Sunday at St. Simons Island, Ga. LSU overcame a five-stroke deficit on the final day at Sea Island Golf Course to claim the title, winning with a 13-under-par score of 827 in the 54-hole tournament.

LSU placed three players in the top 10, including sophomore Brandon Pierce of St. Paul's School in Covington.

Senior Stewart Jolly led the way, finishing tied for fourth at 5-under 205. Junior Zach Wright tied for sixth at 4-under 206.
