Playing a team with just nine wins and a .262 batting average was just what LSU needed Tuesday night in Alex Box Stadium.
Eight Tigers' batters combined for 15 hits, including multiple hits by Bryce Jordan, Austin Bain, Antoine Duplantis and Nick Feduccia, in a 9-1 non-conference win over Nicholls.
Even with a rain delay, LSU (19-11) led from start to finish, with Tigers' freshman starting pitcher AJ Labas (3-1) getting the win.
Labas, working into form after back surgery, allowed one run and five hits in five innings, striking out two and walking one.
He had luxury of working with a 4-0 lead by the time he was replaced by Matthew Beck, the first of five LSU relievers getting in some midweek work prior to the Tigers' three-game SEC road series at Texas A&M starting Thursday night.
