LSU’s football program generated revenues in excess of $85 million in fiscal year 2014, an audited financial report acquired by the Baton Rouge Advocate said. Most of that revenue came from ticket sales ($35 million ) and contributions ($24 million) with a little more than $11 million coming from media rights.
Expenses to operate the football program totaled $28.2 million, the document said, with the largest single category contributing to that figure being “coaching salaries, benefits and bonuses paid by the university and related entities” at $11.44 million. “Related entities” includes LSU’s booster group, the Tiger Athletic Foundation.
