LSU Football isn’t the favorite to land the nation’s top-rated safety, but the Tigers at least have an outside chance.
Xavier Nwankpa, 6-foot-2/190 lbs from Altoona, IA (Southeast Polk), is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 1 safety in the country and the No. 13 overall player in the 2022 recruiting class.
Ohio State is currently viewed as the favorite to land Nwankpa, which makes sense considering Nwankpa is from the midwest.
The Buckeyes are one of the three programs that Nwankpa is currently scheduled to officially visit (Notre Dame and Texas A&M are the others).
