When four-star running back Travis Etienne committed to Clemson over LSU football in early 2017, it stung…..a lot.
For starters, Etienne is from Jennings, LA, which is 90 minutes west of Baton Rouge. Losing an elite in-state player is never easy to swallow.
What really stung, however, was the way Etienne committed to Clemson.
Etienne appeared on KPLC in Louisiana just a few days before National Signing Day to announce his commitment.
And the words he used did not make LSU fans very happy.
“I’m taking my talents to the real Death Valley,” said Etienne while putting on a purple Clemson hat.
