LSU football head coach Ed Orgeron isn’t just an elite head coach — he’s an elite person, too.
There aren’t many coaches in college football who have been through more than Coach O.
Orgeron had his share of off-the-field issues early in his career, which resulted in a leave of absence from Miami (where he was serving as the Hurricanes’ defensive line coach) in 1992. Coach O was out of coaching altogether in 1993.
The Louisiana native returned to coaching in 1994, and eventually worked his way into a head coaching gig with Ole Miss. Orgeron was the Rebels’ head coach from 2005-07, before he was fired.
