True freshman Garrett Nussmeier almost certainly won’t be LSU football‘s starting quarterback in 2021.
Sophomore Max Johnson or redshirt senior Myles Brennan will likely win the job.
But that doesn’t mean Nussmeier’s future at LSU is dull.
Quite the opposite, actually.
Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron is a big fan of Nussmeier. And he hasn’t been shy about praising the young quarterback this offseason.
“I do see some similarities that Garrett has (with former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow) as far as leadership, as far as competitiveness, ability to make plays,” said Orgeron in April (via USA Today).
