The College Football Playoff Rankings came out last night, and the LSU football team took quite the tumble.
The Tigers dropped from No. 2 to No. 9 after the 30-16 loss to the conference rival Alabama Crimson Tide. While the LSU fans are presumably pretty disappointed right now, such a drop was expected.
LSU’s destiny was in its hands, Fournette was the Heisman front runner and the Bayou Bengals looked to be a legitimate National Champion contender in the eyes of the SEC, as well as the rest of the nation. All of that optimism and lofty aspirations appear to have slipped through their fingers.
