LSU football is among the top contenders for 2021 four-star offensive lineman Savion Byrd, according to Rivals recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman.
Spiegelman recently “ranked the contenders” for Byrd and he had LSU as the No. 4 most likely program to land the talented offensive lineman, behind SMU, Oklahoma and Texas.
Byrd, 6-foot-5/294 lbs from Duncanville, TX, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 4 player in the state of Texas and the No. 5 offensive tackle in the nation. He’s also rated as the No. 33 overall 2021 recruit in the nation.
Spiegelman noted that Byrd has yet to visit LSU, which is why the Tigers are down the list, despite Byrd’s strong relationship with head coach Ed Orgeron and offensive line coach James Cregg.
