The 2020 season didn’t go as planned for LSU football.
After an incredible 15-0 season in 2019 — which culminated with a win in the national championship game against Clemson — the Tigers came back to earth last season.
LSU went 5-5 in 2020, thanks to a struggling defense that never performed up to expectations under defensive coordinator Bo Pelini (who was hired to replace Dave Aranda).
But while the 2020 season was a disappointment, there were signs near the end of the year that LSU was back on track.
