In the wake of the recent news regarding the Alton Sterling case, LSU Senior Associate Athletic Director Miriam Segar emailed the university's student-athletes urging caution when and if they publicly express their opinions about the decision, according to SBNation.com.
Segar said the athletics department respects and supports "your right to speak publicly and express your opinions," but asked the athletes from refraining from wearing LSU gear when expressing their opinions, including on social media.
