The LSU Tigers overcame a slow start in convincing fashion on Saturday, as highly-touted freshman Antonio Blakeney delivered his coming-out party during an 88-77 victory over the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
The 6-foot-4 shooting guard finished the night with a career-high 31 points, giving the home crowd at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center even more to celebrate this Mardi Gras. In addition to Blakeney’s breakout performance, the win gave LSU sole possession of first place in the SEC.
Keith Hornsby added 25 points for the Tigers, the biggest scoring outburst for the senior guard since dropping 32 points in his season-debut against the Houston Cougars on Dec.
