LSU defeats Georgia 7-6 to start SEC play with sweep

(BRETT DUKE)

LSU finished off the sweep with a 7-6 victory over Georgia on Sunday.

Here are some observations from Alex Box Stadium:

MAKE-UP CALLS: In the third inning, Cole Freeman reached first base on a throwing error by Georgia third baseman Aaron Schunk.

Freeman appeared to be out at first but first base umpire Ken Langford ruled that first baseman LJ Talley's foot came off the bag and gave LSU runners at first and second with no outs. The call brought out Georgia coach Scott Stricklin from the dugout but to no avail.
