The LSU football team did not play spectacular on Saturday, but it did not matter. Sophomore running back Leonard Fournette exploded for another memorable performance, and the Tigers pulled away for a 44-22 victory over the Eastern Michigan Eagles.
LSU appeared dominant coming out of the gates, but faltered in the second quarter. Eastern Michigan closed the gap to three points, and trailed by just six at the half.
The Tigers got off to a nice start to the third quarter, thanks to a 75-yard touchdown run by Fournette on his first carry of the second half.
