LSU comeback falls a sliver short against Marquette, as defensive struggles are too much

NEW YORK -- Shots falling and shots not falling are a big underlying theme to every basketball game. When LSU and Marquette squared off Monday night at the Barclays Center in the semifinals of the Legends Classic, form held true.

The Eagles' shooting touch was red-hot from the beginning, aided and abetted by some shoddy Tigers' defense, and LSU never quite found a comfort zone in the NBA setting.

Despite that cold shooting night and a torrid touch from Marquette, though, this one came down to the final possession and took on a postseason feel along the way.
