LSU’s hiring of Ed Orgeron has been cause for celebration for many Louisianans, especially those in hometown.
Orgeron will be honored Feb. 17 with “Coach O Day” in his hometown of Larose, Louisiana and surrounding community, the Houma Courier reported Monday.
As a part of the celebration, Orgeron will be honored with a special banquet in his honor at 6 p.m. local time at the Larose Civic Center, where he also will have his South Lafourche High School jersey retired.
Orgeron was a member of the 1977 state championship football team, which also will be celebrating its 40th anniversary.
