LSU can't come up with timely hits in loss to Ole Miss

The difference between winning and losing on Friday night in LSU's 4-1 loss to Ole Miss was pretty simple to Tigers coach Paul Mainieri.

"Obviously the difference in the game tonight was they hit four solo home runs and we didn't," Mainieri said.

Four swings of the bat for the Rebels - two by Tate Blackman and one each by Colby Bortles and Nick Fortes - off of LSU starter Jared Poche was all Ole Miss needed to even up the series.

Blackman got things going early with a leadoff home run and he also came through with one in the sixth inning while Bortles and Fortes each hit one in the fourth innings.
