Years of hard work paid off for one walk-on member of the LSU basketball on Thursday.
Henry Shortess, a junior guard, learned following Thursday’s practice that he had been awarded a scholarship for the 2016 spring semester. Shortess is scheduled to graduate from LSU’s Ourso School of Business in May.

“I am very pleased that we could give a scholarship for this semester to Henry Shortess as he finishes his undergraduate school work,” head coach Johnny Jones said. “Henry is not only hard-working in the classroom as demonstrated by his multiple selections to the SEC Academic Honor Roll, but he was named a prestigious Rucks Fellow by the Ourso School of Business.
