LSU's 14-day break on the basketball court didn't come at an ideal time.
The Tigers (5-2) were coming off their best win of the season in an 84-65 win over Houston, a team that was receiving votes in the AP poll at the time of the game on Nov. 29.
But then exams came and the LSU schedule halted to a stop.
So the focus has been on coach Johnny Jones trying to keep his guys sharp throughout the layoff in preparation for their return to the court on Tuesday in a home game against North Carolina Central.
