As LSU basketball prepares for a challenging season following the loss of prodigious point forward Ben Simmons to the NBA, those players returning and the incoming freshman class will clearly have its work cut out for them.
Many look at a squad that failed to make the tournament even with a future No.1 pick on their team and assume that Antonio Blakeney and the rest of the returners are unlikely to improve upon last season’s result.
While the players and coaching staff will continue game planning, scouting, and further preparing for the 2016 season over the next few months, intense recruiting competition will go on behind-the-scenes.
